However, customers pay the monthly fee for additional perks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These benefits include mobile phone insurance, worldwide <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/02\/travel-insurance-guide-2025-best-deals-barclays-gocompare-22266818\/\">travel insurance<\/a>, and an overdraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many other banks offer packaged bank accounts for a monthly fee \u2013 such as Monzo Max, which offers phone and travel insurance, higher interest on <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/savings\/\">savings<\/a> accounts, and perks such as cinema tickets for \u00a317 per month.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"485\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23068994 lazyload\" alt=\"Front exterior view of a branch of the Co-op Bank\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/originalholdum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2156906240.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Co-op\u2019s Everyday Extra account costs \u00a317 per month (Picture: Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The price increase comes after the Co-op launched a switch offer of \u00a3175 to entice new customers to change over.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The offer launched in May, with the bank handing out \u00a3100 to those who completed a switch to its current account and \u00a325 per month for three months after.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In order to receive the cash incentive, customers must switch their current account to a Co-op Standard Current Account, Current Account Plus, Everyday Extra, or Privilege Premier Account.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson from The Co-operative Bank said: \u2018Our current Everyday Extra customers have recently been notified that from July 1, we will be increasing their current account fee from \u00a315 to \u00a318.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The subscription fee for our Everyday Extra product has remained constant since it launched in 2017, but, unfortunately, due to the costs levied by our suppliers increasing during this time, we\u2019ve had to increase the fees that our customers will pay.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018By applying for an Everyday Extra account as part of our current \u00a3175 switch incentive, customers could effectively get 9 months of additional benefits for free.\u2019<\/p>\n<div class=\"factbox\" data-ico=\"factbox_article\" data-track-module=\"factbox_article\">\n<h2 class=\"factbox-title\">\n\t\t\t\tWhat are the features of Co-Op&#8217;s Everyday Extra current account?\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<div class=\"factbox-content\">\n<p>Co-op will be raising its subscription fee for its Everyday Extra account to \u00a318 on July 1. The package account includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mobile phone insurance, worldwide travel insurance, and UK &amp; European breakdown cover\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>An overdraft available once the account is opened\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply you must:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be registered with a UK Medical Practioner for travel insurance benefits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be between 18 and 79 years old\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet the UK residency eligibility criteria for insurance benefits\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Co-op is not the only bank increasing fees for packaged accounts this year. <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/lloyds-banking-group\/\">Lloyds Bank<\/a> is increasing the monthly fee on its Club Lloyds package bank account in June.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Currently, customers pay \u00a33 a month for a Club Lloyds account, but this will rise to \u00a35 per month from June 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The current account comes with additional perks.
